72% of funds budgeted under MGNREGS have been disbursed to states so far, Center says – Mintpaisa

He further said that the central government is committed to releasing funds for the payment of salaries and materials for the smooth implementation of the program.

The ministry shared these details while issuing clarification on a report which indicated that approximately 39% of program cardholders did not have a single day of work in 2020-21.

“It will not be correct to assume that all registered households had applied for work. The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act provides a guarantee of at least 100 days of wage employment against the application made by a household in a rural area,” the ministry said. respond to the report.

He also shared the labor supply to labor demand ratio that was over 99% in the three-year period from 2019-20.
