Karnataka recorded a record collection of Rs 6,085 crore on goods and services in January this year, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday. In a series of tweets, the Chief Minister also paid tribute to the reforms, vigilance and improved taxpayer compliance that made this possible.
“A record collection of 6,085 crore was achieved under GST this month. Karnataka continues to be the state with the highest growth rate of 30% in GST collection,” Bommai tweeted.

“This year’s remarkable cleanup is due to measures taken for reforms, targeted vigilance, recovery of the economy and improved taxpayer compliance. This increase in revenue will enable the government to present a better budget this year,” he said. he added.
